How to Pull More Soap and Work from Longer Distances

The Hydro Injector is a unique downstream injector that allows you to pull a higher concentration of soap with a longer pressure hose than your standard downstream injector you will find locally.
The injector allows you to pull chemical with 400 feet of pressure hose, where the standard downstream injector will pull at a limit of 200 feet of pressure hose. For large scale projects where you are cleaning equipment that is nowhere near a water source (or a place you can park your equipment) this is a vital element to make your cleaning process more efficient. We have had one waste haul company where they parked their roll off trucks 300 feet away from where our truck was parked and we had limited access due to the design of the complex. This injector made it possible for us to clean the roll offs while being 500 feet away from a water source, while still acquiring water! This prevented us from having excessive downtime filling up our water tank (and the labor cost of the techs sitting in the truck waiting for water). In two days we saved more in labor than the cost for the injector itself.
This is not the only advantage of this injector. It is a very durable system that uses a stainless flexible spring that is even resistant to bleach and acids! Now when I say resistant, they will eventually corrode if they are not rinsed after each use. We generally get 6 to 18 months of use out of one injector, where with previous injectors we get 2-6 weeks of use before replacing.
Our customers' most treasured part of this product has been the draw ratio.
4 gallon per minute pressure washers with 200 feet of pressure hose will draw chemical at a 1:5 ratio (standard injectors being in the range of 1:7 ratio). (for 12.5% bleach you get 2.88%)
5 gallon per minute pressure washers will draw chemical at approximately a 1:6 ratio. (for 12.5% bleach you get approximately 2.45%)
8 gallon per minute pressure washers will draw chemical at approximately 1:9 ratio. (for 12.5% bleach you get approximately 1.5%)
Why is this important? You can get a stronger concentration of soap without having to use a pump up sprayer when washing out a tank, decreasing your labor time to complete these large scale tasks that are chemical intensive.
So in our experience this is the lifespan of the injector if you are not rinsing out the injectors.

We have found sodium hydroxide (caustic) based degreasers have little to no impact on the life of the injector and doesn’t even need to be rinsed out since it is not corrosive towards the materials inside of the injector.
So the next thing you need to know is how to use this injector. When installing it is important to note there are arrows pointing on the brass body. You want the arrows pointing away from the pump, and towards the trigger gun, this is the flow indicator. If you install this backwards, it will not work since it has a check valve.
The next important thing to know is if you use a high pressure nozzle (like a 15045 orifice or any turbo nozzle) it will not draw soap. You will need to have a low pressure nozzle (like the standard black tip that comes in the tip kits) in order to draw soap. Generally we like to use the 0060 for shooting long distance (if you have rust on a 30 foot tall metal tank, you can actually use this injector to spray aluminum brightener onto the tank to remove the rust from the ground). If you are washing out the inside of a frac tank and removing existing oil/diesel/oil based mud you would want to use something like the 2560 nozzle so that it sprays at a 25 degree angle and covers more surface area. Note the 2560 has a wide open tip where the 2506 has a small opening in the tip that is restrictive and acts as a high pressure nozzle. The 2560 will act more like a 100 psi garden hose, which is how you can tell the difference between the nozzles. What we use in our situation is the J Rod where we have a 2560 for applying soap in a fan, a 0060 for applying soap at long distances, 40045 for our wide fan high pressure nozzle used for rinsing and the 15045 nozzle for your 15 degree angle that works great with hot water for removing tar build up and polymeric resin that is difficult to remove. A J rod is a convenient tool that carries 4 nozzles into one piece so your employees aren’t losing nozzles. The name J Rod came from a power washing contractor in Michigan named Jarrod Grumblatt for anyone who was curious why this product had that name.
We do recommend having a spare injector in the event one does fail, you have a back up injector. Once you begin using this tool you will consider it a mandatory part to keep in your arsenal.
